Churn alerts for Stripe, ranked by the revenue at stake.
Keep connects to your Stripe account through Stripe Connect and tells your team in Slack when revenue is about to leave — a cancellation, a downgrade, a failed payment, a trial that ended — and, with a usage source, which paying customers have gone quiet.
What you get from Stripe alone
Stripe on its own is enough to start. Keep reads subscriptions in every status and turns them into MRR, active customers, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, and how revenue moved this month.
Alerts go out for the events that cost money: a cancellation, a downgrade, a failed charge, and a trial that ended without converting. Each one names the customer, the MRR involved, and a link to the customer in Stripe. A daily digest sums up the rest, so the channel is not muted by noise.
Stripe only keeps 30 days of events. Keep stores the subscription changes it sees from the moment you connect, so your history does not disappear after a month.
Add usage to see silent churn
Cancellations are the loud part of churn. The quiet part is the customer who is still paying and has stopped using the product — or never started. Stripe cannot see that on its own.
Connect PostHog, or send activity through Keep's API, and Keep matches each paying customer to their usage. It then flags accounts whose usage dropped, went silent, or never began, ordered by how much MRR each one represents.

What Keep reads and stores
| — | Keep and Stripe |
|---|---|
| Connection | Stripe Connect (OAuth). No API key is stored. |
| Reads | Subscriptions in every status, customers (name and email), plan changes, failed invoices. |
| Writes | Nothing. Stripe grants the connection with write permission, and Keep does not use it. |
| Stores | Your Stripe account id and the history of subscription changes (MRR before and after), not customer names. |
| Alerts | Cancellation, downgrade, failed payment, trial ended, usage risk, daily digest. |
| Disconnect | One click from Keep or from your Stripe dashboard. Your history stays if you reconnect. |
Questions
- Can Keep charge customers or change my Stripe data?
- No. Keep never creates, changes, or cancels a charge, subscription, or customer. Stripe only offers this kind of connection with write permission, but Keep does not use it.
- How is this different from Stripe's own emails?
- Stripe notifies you about individual payments. Keep puts each event in revenue context — the customer's MRR, how long they have been a customer, the month's churn — and, with a usage source, flags paying customers who stopped using the product before they cancel.
- Does Keep do dunning or retry failed payments?
- No. Keep alerts your team when a payment fails, with the amount and the attempt number, so someone can reach out. Retrying cards and sending dunning emails is left to Stripe or a dedicated tool.
- Can I connect more than one Stripe account?
- One live Stripe account per workspace today. Monitored MRR adds that account to any other billing source you connect, such as AbacatePay or Asaas.
